The Sant Joan Despí Hospital was launched in February 2010, with an investment from the Department of Health for its construction and equipment. In addition, it was the first hospital of its level to be born from scratch in Catalonia.
The center has an area of 46.128 square meters.
From December 2010, the Hospital managed the Sant Feliu Specialized Care Center and the Cornellà Specialized Care Center. In these two centers, we work with Hospital staff and methodology, which makes it possible to facilitate accessibility for users and at the same time maintain a better system of work and coordination with the Hospital.
The hospital belongs to the Integral Health System for public use (SISCAT) of Catalonia and is a provider center of the Catalan Health Service. The center has a hyperbaric chamber.
For organizational and management purposes, the Hospital General de l’Hospitalet, the Hospital Sociosanitari de l’Hospital and the Hospital de Sant Joan Despí function as a single centre, the Moisès Broggi University Hospital Complex.
