B Building Day Hospital
Building B of the Sant Joan Despí Hospital is fully operational after the renovation works of its spaces. This action has allowed the creation of new locations to house and expand various services and increase the space dedicated to care by more than 3.200 m2.
The reform has allowed for a new and expanded Day hospital, oncological and multipurpose, spread over four floors, which makes it possible to provide comprehensive and continuous care without the need for prolonged admission, with better care for users, since all care (extractions, treatments, etc.) can be carried out in the same area, which gains 500m2 in space. This will allow for a more comfortable service, with larger, brighter and more welcoming areas and will mean a improvement significant in thepatient experience.
The remodeling of building B has also allowed for a new space to be allocated for the consult de Cardiology and Allergology.
On the other hand, a new one has also been released minimally invasive testing room, where functional tests of Pneumology, Allergology and some of Cardiology (holters, pacemaker monitoring and electrocardiograms).
The space has been designed according to the principles of humanizing services, one of the strategic axes of the Comprehensive Health Consortium. The objective has been to create a more friendly, welcoming and comfortable environment for all users. An example is the new Domum space, located on floor 0. With this commitment, the CSI reaffirms its commitment to putting people's needs at the center and offering closer, more humane and dignified healthcare.
The spaces that remain free in theBuilding A (main) where the Day Hospital used to be, they will start a remodeling process to improve other services, which will have a renovated, larger, more functional and comfortable space, including a new Cardiology testing room and outpatient pharmacy offices.
The works on Building B are not the only project underway to improve the centre's care space. In August, works also began on the expansion and remodelling of the Emergency service, which are currently in the final stages of completion.
Building B of the Sant Joan Despí Hospital was built in 2021 as a multipurpose hospital space, with the intention of being able to give it different uses depending on the needs of the center once the covid-19 pandemic is over. It then functioned as a mass covid vaccination point and, subsequently, has housed part of the Imaging Diagnostic Service (CAT and magnetic resonance imaging) and part of the Hyperbaric Therapeutic Service. With the reform, the full performance of the buildingIn addition, the project guarantees that in the event of a health emergency, like a new pandemic, the building will be able to welcome critical and semi-critical patients again in a very short time.

The Hospital de Sant Joan Despí, the General Hospital of l'Hospitalet and the Hospital Sociosanitari of l'Hospitalet form the Moisès Broggi Hospital Complex. All of these centers are managed by the Consorci Sanitari Integral.
