The Postgraduate Degree in Surgical Nursing of the Integral Health Consortium and the University School of Nursing and Occupational Therapy of Terrassa (EUIT) becomes a Master in Surgical Nursing, Anesthesia and Pain Therapy. The Postgraduate course began with an agreement signed with the University School of Nursing of the Red Cross in 1995, three years after offering the Operating Room Course for Nurses created by the Nursing Directorate of the Hospital de la Creu Roja de l'Hospitalet, the current General Hospital of l'Hospitalet.
This Master aims to offer a more complete training compared to the initial postgraduate, with the aim of facilitate professional development that allows for leadership in the execution of specific nursing care in the surgical area and in pain therapy, considering the surgical patient as the center of the whole process.
More than 500 students have taken the Postgraduate course during its 23 years of uninterrupted training. The guarantee of quality is reflected in the suitability and flexibility for the training needs of professionals and is manifested in the fact that comprehensive training is ensured, enhancing learning through clinical practices and prioritizing simulation practices in small groups. Most of the teachers are professionals in active practice and, therefore, the contents are updated according to the advances in the surgical field.
The master's degree offers a very wide variety of centers to develop internships, with agreements with different centers in Barcelona, Terrassa, Sabadell, Vic, Martorell or Mataró, which allows students to choose the center that best suits their needs of proximity Once the first course has been completed, it is also possible to obtain the postgraduate diploma in Surgical Nursing to access the surgical field of work as an instrumentalist.
The students who have taken the Postgraduate course all this year express in their final evaluations that they are satisfied or very satisfied.
