Good hand washing can reduce nosocomial infections
The lobby of the Hospital de Sant Joan Despí hosted this morning the first day of the Hand Washing Campaign that the Integral Health Consortium has organized, on the occasion of World Hand Hygiene Day.
At the stand, information was given on the importance of washing our hands, and thus reducing it nosocomial infections (or intrahospital, contracted by patients admitted to health care centers); as well as spreading correct procedures of how and when to wash hands.
More sessions are planned in L'Hospitalet and Barcelona:
· Tuesday, May 7 – The lobby of the General Hospital it will also have a stand where hand washing demonstrations will be held and in the assembly hall, a video exhibition. In addition, there will be informative brochures available to professionals and users.
· Tuesday 7 and Wednesday 8 May – At Dos de Maig Hospital the video on hand washing will be broadcast between 12 and 18 p.m. throughout the day in the waiting room of the Hospitalization Unit.
There will also be 2 talks at 12:17 and XNUMX:XNUMX addressed to admitted patients and their families, by Maria José Moreno, hospital infection control nurse at Dos de Maig Hospital.
