Mònica Fernández Aguilera speaking about Literacy for Health during the Monitoring Day of the Health Plan of the Health Region of Barcelona Metropolitana Sud
Yesterday took place the Follow-up Day of the Health Plan of the Health Region of Barcelona Metropolitana Sud, where the centers of the territory of Baix Llobregat and Hospitalet del Llobregat of the Integral Health Consortium are affiliated.
Mònica Fernández Aguilera, head of Internal Communication and coordinator of Health Literacy at the Integral Health Consortium, presented a paper that wanted to respond to one of the main challenges faced by health organizations: improving communication between health professionals and their users, families or carers.
Health Literacy is one of the main axes of Health Promotion, a discipline promoted by the World Health Organization (WHO) as a measure of the sustainability of health systems, developed since the 80s of the century past, and integrated into the strategy of the Integral Health Consortium.
The day was used to present the results and follow-up of the actions derived from the 2021-2025 Health Plan of the Department of Health, ordered in four central axes: 1) Equal opportunities throughout life, Healthy environments, Integration of health care and 4) transversal change levers. The Health Region convened 300 professionals from the Metro Sud area in Can Massellera (Sant Boi), and they also had the opportunity to listen to Xesco Espart, 7-time European champion with FC Barcelona, to talk about the motivation of teams
