The days 16 and 17 November took place on 27th Congress of the Catalan Society of Geriatrics and Gerontology (SCGiG) in the auditorium of Can Caralleu, under the slogan "Walking together towards an integrated care".
Several professionals from the Consortium attended and some even participated. Rosa Ojeda Manrique, doctor in the Acute Geriatric Unit at Dos de Maig Hospital (with Jordi Martin Marcuello as coordinator and Jordi Mascaró Lamarca as head of Geriatrics) presented a poster that was awarded, under the title "Prevalence of potentially inappropriate prescription in older patients with advanced chronic disease at the end of life, in a third-level hospital". congratulations
The Dos De Maig Geriatrics team also presented the poster "Impact of a newly implemented territorial Geriatric Unit in the care of frail patients with multimorbidity". It was done by Sonia Gómez (nurse), Victor Villamajor (social worker) and Javier González (pharmacist).
In addition, Benito Fontecha, director of Hospital Sociosanitari de l'Hospitalet, also took part in the presentation "Territorial Services as an engine of change towards integrated care".
During the closing of the Congress by Esther Roquer, president of the SCGiG, Francesc Riba, vice-president of the SCGiG and José Augusto García, president of the Sociedad Española de Geriatría y Gerontología (SEGG), it was announced that the 2025 SCGiG and SEGG Congress will be held jointly in Catalonia.
