XNUMXst Innovation Day of the Integral Health Consortium

Yesterday, June 19, the XNUMXst Innovation Day of the Integral Health Consortium (CSI)  with a varied program whose aim was to learn about the evolution of innovation in recent years and the steps that the CSI is taking to place itself among the health centers of reference when talking about innovation. The stage was also used to present innovation projects applied to the health field and especially to the centers of the CSI and to raise the challenges and changes presented by the future of health.

The Conference, organized by CSI Innovation Node and held at the Diagonal 00 Telefónica Tower, had for its inauguration with Albert Barbera, general director of Research and Innovation of the Department of Health of the Generalitat of Catalonia, and Marta Alvarez, vice-president of the Governing Council of the CSI, who had a sense of remembrance for Jordi Mauri, President of the Integral Health Consortium, who left us last June 16.

Miguel Ángel Oliva, general director of the Foundation for Creativity, was in charge of kicking off the Conference with his presentation on "creation", a concept that fuses creativity and innovation, key aspects to spot opportunities and look for revolutionary new ideas.

Next Javier Grueso, director of Information Systems of the CSI and member of the CSInnova Node, presented theCSInnova report which showed the situation of the first year of the Node and the proposals received on the CSInnova portal, a space created so that the professionals of the Consortium can propose solutions and contribute innovative ideas, and which has received a total of 121 proposals from 91 different people.

The humanization of hospitals

The event had two debate tables, the first of which was moderated by Susana Pérez, family doctor at the CAP Sagrada Família and member of the CSInnova Node, and discussed the humanization of hospitals, where five successful cases that responded to this situation were presented. The first of these was presented by Núria Borrell, CSI clinical nurse and member of the CSInnova Node, who explained the Humanization workshop, an action that was carried out with professionals, patients and students from a school in Barcelona, ​​with the aim of collecting improvement proposals for healthcare spaces.

For his part, Ramon Freixa, head of the CSI Cardiology Service, presented the CardioShow, a theatrical performance that was carried out in different centers and that explained to patients the main cardiac effects.

Then Teresa Fèrriz, head of New Projects at the Open University of Catalonia, explained the objectives of theParkinsons app, an application that uses music to improve the physical and emotional well-being of Parkinson's patients. Next, Ana Regidor, Emergency Nurse at Dos de Maig Hospital and member of the CSInnova Node, presented the renovation project of the Emergency waiting room at Dos de Maig Hospital, decorated with graphic information and entertainment, the result of the Optimistic Hospital Workshop, which sought to create a friendly and informative room space. Finally, Idoia García, director of Chispum, has presented examples of optimistic decoration in sanitary spaces.

The future of health up for debate

The second table debate, moderated by David Pumar, Director of Quality at the CSI and part of the CSInnova Node, raised the challenges facing the health sector and showed five revolutionary projects that lead to an improvement in healthcare processes. The first of the cases was presented by Meritxell Davins, head of eHealth and Innovation at the CSI, who spoke about telemedicine as a new healthcare model.

Then Jorge Roman, traumatologist from the Diabetic Foot Unit of the CSI, presented examples where the 3D printing to solve various ailments. Next, Laura López, Eurecat's Scouting and Technology Transfer Manager, spoke about sensor and big data, with the presentation of different devices and sensors that facilitate the collection of data favoring personalized medicine. For his part, Miquel A. Bru, from Made of Genes, has raised the role he can play genomics in the future of health, and finally Àlex Blasco, head of the Digestology Service of the CSI, has spoken about lendoscopy laboratory and the challenges to be solved in endoscopic reports.

Recognition for the most innovative ideas

At the Conference, the proposals received on the CSInnova portal were recognized, with the delivery by the Monica Fernandez, responsible for Internal Communication of the CSI and part of the CSInnova Node, from Award for the best CSInnova idea, awarded to Àlex Blasco for his project on voice recognition in endoscopy, and the Award for the best innovative project, by Meritxell Davins and his telemedicine and chatbot project.

Charles Constant, director of the CSI, was in charge of closing the Conference with a series of reflections on talent, the culture of innovation in the organization and the value that all professionals bring, encouraging them to continue in this line: "if the whole organization is innovative, we are unstoppable".
