Functions

  • Draw up the Consortium's three-year Research Plan and define the Consortium's specific research priorities, taking into account those established in the Catalan Health Plan, national and community research plans, as well as those resulting from needs of the Consorci, of the lines of research already consolidated in our center and of the individual initiatives that are accompanied by quality scientific production. Promote the growth and consolidation of the Consortium's priority lines of action.
  • Develop the annual research objectives.
  • Propose the general criteria for the allocation of research resources, taking into consideration the established priorities.
  • Monitor and report the suitability, feasibility and opportunity of those requests for research funding (projects, infrastructure, grants, etc.) to external bodies.
  • Ensure that the research carried out in the scope of the Consortium meets the highest standard. This function will be carried out without prejudice to the functions of the Clinical Research Ethics Committee (CEIC) in this same area.
  • Make the overall evaluation of the annual research report. Regarding the specific research resources in the Consortium, the research lines and projects, the Commission will evaluate the activity developed and its performance.
  • Facilitate the interrelation of the research staff of the different services, units and care levels of the Consorci.
  • Promote the continuous training of researchers in the Consorci, as well as the incorporation of fellows assigned to research projects, and guarantee the quality of their training.
  • Approve the creation of new research groups.
  • Channel relations with the Teaching area in all those aspects related to scientific research in the Consortium's field, with an emphasis on research activities aimed at professionals in training.
  • Propose the annual activities related to research and coordinate and adequately disseminate the programs of sessions or seminars.
  • Ensure that the integration of the Consortium's research into the IDIBELL structure responds to the needs of the entity's researchers in accordance with the Research Plan.
  • Encourage the participation of Consorci members in IDIBELL bodies.
  • In coordination with the Research Unit, act as a link between the researchers of the Consortium and IDIBELL and provide support in case of possible conflicts.

Clinical Research Ethics Committee (CEIC)

The Research Ethics Committee (CEI) with medicines (CEIm) of the Bellvitge University Hospital supervises all the centers of the Integral Health Consortium (CSI).

The arrangements between the CSI researchers and the Bellvitge CEIm are coordinated by the CSI Clinical Epidemiology service.

What type of study must be submitted to the CEIm?

Evaluation and approval, if applicable, by the CEIm is always mandatory to obtain Management's approval in any type of research conducted with CSI patients.

For any research project to be submitted to the CEIm, contact should be made through the following form and send the protocol of the project, with the identification of the contact of the promoter and the person who will perform the functions of principal investigator in the CSI.

Documentation necessary to present a project

The documentation required to present the protocol of a clinical trial, a post-authorization study (EPA) or any other type of research project can be consulted in the document:
