What do they consist of?

The purpose of training stays is to expand the expertise and training of active professionals in a healthcare institution.

  • You must be a specialist in health sciences.
  • You must have a professional employment relationship with a public or private institution at the time of your stay.

In accordance with the DOGC, decree 165/2015, article 43, of July 21, which regulates specialized healthcare training in Catalonia, the training stays of foreigners take place in teaching units accredited for the training of specialists and not they can be taken into consideration to obtain the Spanish specialist title or to approve foreign titles with this Spanish title.

Thus, training stays at the CSI can only take place in accredited teaching units, that is to say, in:

  • Anesthesiology and Resuscitation
  • Digestive system
  • General Surgery
  • Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology
  • Geriatrics
  • Geriatric Nursing
  • Internal Medicine
  • Intensive Care medicine
  • Occupational Medicine
  • Obstetrics and Gynecology
  • Radiodiagnosis
  • Obstetric-Gynecological Nursing
  • Labor Nursing

To request a training stay in the Consorci, the following procedures must be completed:

    The interested person must consult the website of the Ministerio de Sanidad for information on the authorization of training stays for foreign citizens, through the following link:

    Once the requirements of the Ministry have been consulted, the interested person will apply to the Teaching Committee for their training stay for a period not exceeding six months, and with a minimum of six months in advance, indicating the service where they want to spend their stay and specifying the dates.
