Purposes of the treatment

The purpose of data processing is the following:

  • Provision of health or social assistance: guarantee the registration and monitoring of the health and social treatment provided at the centers of the Integral Health Consortium (CSI); ensure the continuity of care between the different care devices; provide the necessary information for the correct invoicing of the cost of the services provided; complete the clinical history in the center, implement the mechanisms of coordination of clinical histories that are developed and the preparation of observational studies with the aim of improving the quality of care.
  • Communication of citations via SMS or email: send users of the Integral Health Consortium an SMS or e-mail reminding them of scheduled visits with the centers' services. We will use the data provided directly by the user.
  • Teaching: the Consorci Sanitari Integral has a teaching vocation, inherent in the health sector, and at all times the regulations on data protection and specific in this matter will be respected and will conform to the best practices in privacy and information security. This implies that, prior to the start of the care activity, the professional will inform the patient or their representative about the presence and possible action by the students, requesting their consent, which can be verbal. If it is decided not to consent, the students will not be able to be present. In our centers there are students from various universities and professional schools, and graduates in Medicine and Nursing training in different specialties: internal medicine resident (MIR) and internal nurse resident (IIR), according to the accreditation of the Ministry of Health.
  • Research: the Integral Health Consortium participates in clinical research projects, subject to the approval of the Clinical Research Ethics Committee of the Bellvitge Biomedical Research Institute (IDIBELL). To carry out these studies, pseudonymised data will be used, which in no case allow patients to be identified, and consent will be requested beforehand.
  • Satisfaction and/or service quality surveys: with the intention of improving the quality of the care activity, patients can be selected to consult their experience in the CSI. This survey is voluntary and its result allows the CSI to offer a better service.
