Zero tolerance policy for violence in the health sector

The Consortium launches the 'Ajuda'ns a cuidar-te' campaign with the aim of making the population aware of the need to maintain mutual respect and good relations between the users of health centers and the professionals who work there.

Our organization adopts the Zero Tolerance Policy for violence in the health sector promoted by the Department of Health, and in accordance with the existing regulations in this matter, creates and develops preventive systems that promote the safest possible conditions for to professionals in matters of violence.

An example is the creation of a new action procedure for situations of external violence that allows our healthcare professionals (care staff and administrative staff) to carry out their work in conditions that are as safe as possible.

What is considered a situation of external violence?

The International Labor Organization (ILO) defines violence in the workplace as any action, incident or behavior that departs from the reasonable, through which a person is assaulted, threatened, humiliated or injured by another in the exercise of their professional activity or as a direct consequence thereof. In the case of external violence, it would be that which occurs on the part of a user.
