Participants in the training listen to the intervention of the obstetrician Iris Soveral.

To provide adequate support to families who suffer an abortion or the death of a baby.

With the title: Let's talk about perinatal grief?, the Gynecology and Obstetrics Service of Hospital General de l'Hospitalet has organized a series of sessions aimed at professionals involved in the care of pregnant women in the process of perinatal bereavement.

Gestational or neonatal loss is a difficult experience for families. The treatment received by professionals can condition their approach to grief. For this reason it is particularly important that health professionals know how to provide adequate support to families who suffer a gestational or neonatal loss.

The objectives of the training are the following:

– Reflect, share and contribute knowledge about care for the family in cases of perinatal death focused on humanizing the farewell and care for the partner.

– Review and importance of study protocols in cases of premature fetal death.

- Provide resources for professionals to approach situations of perinatal death in an empathetic way.

The course is organized in five sessions that will take place in February and March this year, during which 32 professionals will be trained. The first session took place last Thursday.
