The supply of specialized healthcare training continues to grow.
The Consortium will offer a position for a resident intern in this specialty from the next call.
The Integral Health Consortium has obtained the accreditation of the Ministry of Health as a Radiodiagnosis Teaching Unit. This means that from the next training period it will be able to offer a resident position in this specialty.
For Jordi Català, head of the Imaging Diagnostic Service, accreditation is a very important fact for the service for several reasons: "we have the opportunity to train specialists who can then stay working with us, which is important for the difficulty in finding professionals in our specialty. Likewise, doctors who are in the process of having their specialty title approved and who, in order to complete their training, must do so in an accredited center will be able to attend. Until now, residents from other specialties rotated through the service and now we will have our own, with which we will optimize the teaching capacity of our radiologists with the large volume, diversity and complexity of pathology that our centers attend to".
With this there are already 13 accredited specialties for the fspecialized health care. The Comprehensive Health Consortium has the ability to train specialist doctors in Anesthesiology and Reanimation, General Surgery and Digestive System, Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology, Geriatrics, Internal Medicine, Digestive System, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Intensive Medicine and Family and Community Medicine; and specialist nurses in Obstetric-gynecological Nursing and Geriatric Nursing.
On the other hand, the Consortium is accredited as a teaching device for the multi-professional Family and Community Care teaching units of Costa Ponent (Metropolitana Sud)-ICS and of Barcelona Ciutat-ICS, with more than 20 places a year Family and Community Medicine and Nursing.
According to Gemma Férriz, head of studies, "one of the objectives of the Consortium is to continue to grow in the teaching offer and participate in the training of future health specialists and thus generate and retain talent".
