About the Observatory

The Ophthalmology area of ​​Hospital Dos de Maig is made up of a multidisciplinary team that is in charge of comprehensive eye medical care for all eye pathologies in eight basic health areas (ABS) of the city of Barcelona. Its mission is the prevention and treatment of the main eye pathologies using the most advanced diagnostic and surgical techniques.

Research

The Ophthalmology service works on numerous national and international phase II, III and IV medical retina clinical trials
(Octave, Trend, Como, Kestrel, Centera, Constance, Luminous, RE-DES, EPI-DMAE, Bioimage, Aflirap, Robin, Rhine, Harrier) related to retinal pathology such as exudative AMD, diabetic macular edema or retinal vascular obstructions.
